Title: This project shall be titled as  Village of Orphans. A project for the rehabilitation of the Orphans.

NEED:

* A large number of orphans in Assam are in a very pity condition with no shelters and employment. They are left out without any specific for rehabilitation and social acceptance. Gradually they become mentally tortured by negative attitude towards their orphanage and poverty. They are largely excluded from the main stream and from development programmers as well as from the self help movement seen as being of unsound mind.

* The orphans can achieve a degree of independence in self care, learn to relate with other members of their community in socially acceptable ways and earn a living in supported employment. For example, they can be employed in various household  tasks, or in diary firm, piggery, poultry, horticulture or repetitive non- farm jobs, which normal people may have little patience for. Through this way they can contribute their hidden potency for tremendous development of rural as well as urban India.

* The orphans of the society usually are kidnapped by the antisocial elements and are engaged to do social crime & they are ultimately converted to the actual criminals.

* The state of being lack of competent orphanage within the region is indirectly inspiring the terrorist groups to spread their activities and won power throughout the entire region as well over India. Due to lack of proper orphanage both the problem of terrorism and unemployment have become gradually serious.

* Though about 80% of people of the total population live in rural areas yet the problem of orphans have become a burning problem in urban areas also. It is estimated that only 2 to 3 % of orphans fortunately get shelter. Rehabilitation should be realized as not an end in itself but a means of enabling the orphans to reach an optimum level of functioning, which allows them to contribute as active members of their community. For their humanity, aspirations and potentials and as citizens they same entitlements as a general citizen, should be duly recognized.

BASELINE INFORMATION'S:

* The project area consists of two parts of Kamrup district in Assam state having Metro and Rural, part, with a population of about 10 lakhs.

* The populaces are generally cultivators, service holders, factory workers, businessmen and small- scale farmers.

* No such voluntary/ non- governmental organization function in the project area as a total development of orphans.

* The members of the society conducted two survey in the area and had visited many place both developed & remote, and have came to the conclusion that the prime task ahead is to commence a project, which would help to develop and generate them to make their life physically, mentally, morally & financially stable.

OBJECTIVES:

* The objective is to formulize a village of orphans to make them enable to reach an optimum level of functioning, which will help to develop the India economy.

* To create an environment that would respect the right and dignity of orphans as citizens and as members of their community.

* To bring out the potentials, abilities and achievements of orphans to give meaning to their own and others lives.

* To fight effectively with the apathy, lack of confidence, and low self esteem of orphans, which are the outcome of their internationalization of negative social attitudes.

* To organize training programmers for Diary, Piggery, Horticulture, Fishery, S.S.I. Units etc. from time to time for the welfare of the orphans.

* To organize training programmers, seminars, awareness programs etc. for the orphans upon different topics of importance to develop their skills by inviting resource persons from local or outside places of the project area.
